You have to burn a few cookies.

When you learn to ride your bike you will fall. Your 1st grader learning to read will sound like a robot. "The... Duck... Swims... On... The... Lake." When you learning how to bake you need to burn a few cookies.

Anything new doesn't happen exactly like it's spelled in the recipe.

If you are board at your job, then you either need to get a new job or add something that's past your skills. We crave difficulty.  Not so hard that it's too painful or frustrating. But something that we can almost do but not quite.

It's the same reason that video games work on a progressive difficulty. If you didn't fight and win that level one ogre. And get that rush of dopamine. You will want that same feeling when you loose to the dark knight. Working your way up to the final dragon.  It all adds up.

Your going to burn a few cookies but that means your doing something new.  Keep burning cakes without changing your tactics or the recipe. That is when you start boarding on insanity.
